REFUGE CLOSED TO PUBLIC USE
Karl E. Mundt National Wildlife Refuge is closed to public use to reduce disturbance to the eagles.
Interpretive panels along Eagle Drive near the refuge provide information about Karl E. Mundt NWR. An excellent eagle viewing area is located at a kiosk below Ft. Randall Dam on the west bank of the Missouri River. With a little patience, decent weather and a pair of binoculars, visitors can witness bald eagles hunting and interacting with one another.
