Burgess Marsh Electric Pump

Pump Construction

Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge is proud to announce that construction has started on a new electric pump located in the Burgess Marsh Area.

To reduce the environmental impact of running diesel motors to pump, the Refuge has started construction on a new electric pump in the Burgess marsh area north of the Refuge headquarters along the west side of HWY K-130. This new pump will require less maintenance and less man hours to run, freeing Refuge staff to do other management projects. This could not have been accomplished without the help of some amazing partners. Thanks to all that helped and the Refuge looks forward to the pump being operational by 2016.
