Welcome to Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge!

Administration Building and Visitor Center
Administration Building: Open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This is where the refuge’s business is conducted.

Visitor Center: Visitor Center hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm 7 days a week from November through April. May through October the hours are more variable and dependent upon availability of volunteers. Please call ahead as our times may change.  Speak to a staff member or volunteer to learn more about what is happening on refuge. Pick up maps and helpful information and schedule a hike. Picnic tables here overlook the valley and majestic Baboquivari Peak. Rest rooms are available.

The visitor center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day.

Due to limited staff, the Visitor Center hours are subject to change and we recommend that you call ahead. You are welcome to stop by the administration building across the patio and speak to a staff member at any time.

Recreational Opportunities
The refuge offers many opportunities to enjoy wildlife-related recreation. With the exception of Brown Canyon, refuge trails are open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hunting, camping, picnicking and many educational opportunities are scheduled throughout the year.
