2019 Game Warden Youth Camp

USFWS LE Badge_150x119 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Texas Chenier Plain National Wildlife Refuge Complex will be hosting the annual Youth Game Warden Camp for individuals between the ages of 14 – 18 years old who are interested in the duties of a Conservation Law Enforcement Officer.


This three day camp will include: waterfowl identification and regulations, reptile and amphibian identification and illicit trade, fish identification and regulations, fishing and hunting compliance checks, deer decoy operations, K9 use in conservation law enforcement, and special guest speakers.  

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens and Federal Wildlife Officers will be instructing and mentoring the three day program. 

Camp will run daily from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, June 12th-14, 2019. 

Fee for the three day camp is $100 and covers cost of course materials, hat, t-shirt, lunch, drinks, and snacks. Scholarship available (need based). 



Space is limited. Final application deadline is May 1, 2019 at 4:00 PM.   

Register by turning in the application and an essay (MAX LIMIT 1000 words) written by the participant stating the reason why they want to be a Game Warden. Deliver the completed packet to one of the following addresses or fax number:

All applications and essays will be reviewed between May 1st-15th, 2019. A total of 16 students will be selected for the Game Warden Camp. Selected participants will be notified immediately on May 15th, 2019. You do not have to be present to be selected. Once selected, payment is due June 12th, 2019 at 8:00 AM or your child will be disqualified and replaced by another participant.  


Scholarships Available: There will be 2 scholarships available to cover the cost of the participation fee. Please provide an additional written statement providing information for your request to be considered for the scholarship.
