For Educators

A virtual classroom, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is a great place for students to learn about wildlife and environmental sciences.

The youth component of the Refuge Environmental Education Program maintains the largest number of participants, averaging 8,000 students per year. Most Youth programs are conducted from the Environmental Education Center at Quanah Parker Lake. A variety of workshops give students from public and home schools, scout troops and other educational institutions the opportunity to learn about and gain a deep appreciation for the natural world, and to creatively express their experiences through a variety of artistic media.
