The refuge rules and regulations are found on the updated Public Use brochure, which can be downloaded here, or picked up at one of the yellow boxes across the refuge or the visitor center. Please note that the hours visitors are permitted on the refuge change throughout the year. Please pay attention to the river levels that impact the refuge and check the Plan Your Visit page.

 

Answers to some frequently asked questions:

 

  • ATVs and UTVs are only allowed on yellow marked trails. ATV use is prohibited on gravel roads.
  • State bag limits apply for all hunts unless indicated otherwise in the Public Use brochure. Check here for State regulations. 
  • After November 30, boating in the South Unit waterfowl hunt area is prohibited, except from 4 am to 1 pm on waterfowl hunt days.
  • All non-quota hunting during quota deer hunts is prohibited.
  • Possessing and/or using toxic shot (lead) by hunters using shotguns to hunt small game or waterfowl is prohibited.
