Listed below are a few of the national efforts the refuge is involved in but call the refuge to find out about other programs that are regularly scheduled.

Annual Washita National Wildlife Refuge Anniversary Celebration: Come celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the refuge! The Celebration includes booths and activities that are fun for the whole family. The event features hands-on activity booths including archery, track identification, and wildland firefighting.

The annual Washita National Wildlife Refuge Anniversary Celebration will be held in conjunction with the Foss State Park Easter EGGStravaganza on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:30 pm at Foss State Park.  This FREE event will include fun family activities and the Easter Egg Hunt! National Wildlife Refuge Week Celebration: Celebrate your National Wildlife Refuge System!  This event is typically held the second full week of October. Check back to this page for details on fun things happening on your refuge.

Christmas Bird Count: From mid-December into January thousands of volunteers across the country take part in this popular citizen-science program! Join the effort at the Washita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge. Call to find out details, dates and volunteer opportunities.
