Because the refuge is administered remotely from the Parker River NWR in Newburyport, MA, opportunities to volunteer at Wapack are more limited than would be the case at a staffed refuge. However, if someone has a particular desire to volunteer at Wapack, and has a specific role or project in mind, he or she should contact the volunteer coordinator at Parker River NWR. The telephone number there is (978) 465-5753.
The Friends of the Wapack (Trail) is a non-profit group that maintains the 21-mile Wapack Trail, as well as other trails located both on and off the refuge. Check out their website for more information.
