From its start in 1903, the National Wildlife Refuge System has owed its very existence to concerned citizens eager to protect America's natural resources.

Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is starting to recruit and train volunteers to staff the new Visitor Center!! Volunteers are wanted to help run the WElcome Desk and the Friend's Nature Store at the new Visitor Center in early 2021! Email Hannah Redwood hannah_redwood@fws.gov or Aryn@friendsofvalledeoro.org to learn more.
