  • Hunting Permit

Hunters must obtain and have on their person a permit to hunt Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge, in addition to valid Louisiana hunting licenses. The refuge permit is free and can be found on the front of the Public Use Regulations Brochure. For a printer friendly version you can click here. Also, Public Use Regulation Brochures can be found at most parking lots and at the Complex Headquarters at D'Arbonne NWR on Holland's Bluff Rd and at the Visitor Center at Black Bayou Lake NWR in Monroe.

A Self-clearing Harvest Permit is also required for hunting on the Refuge. These permits can be obtained at entry points of the Refuge and at the Refuge Headquarters. These permits require the hunter to check-in and check-out each day you hunt.

  • Special Use Permits

Special Use Permits are required for some Refuge activities including firewood cutting and fishing with a recreational gear license. Call or visit the office for more information at 318-726-4222.
