Rules and Regulations

The following regulations are necessary for the protection of wildlife and wildlife habitat, and for the safety of visitors.  Observance of these rules will help make the Refuge a better place for visitors and the wildlife they come to enjoy.  The Refuge Manager reserves the right to close all or part of the Refuge to public access at any time.  Specific regulations are posted every entrance point.  The Refuge is also subject to Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.


Visiting Hours

The East side of the Refuge is open seasonally May - September, Tuesdays through Saturdays @8am - 4pm; and closed October - April. The West side is open daily from dawn to dusk, year round except during Federal holidays.

Access and Parking

Motorized vehicles and bicycles are allowed at the designated parking lot in front of the main entrance of the Refuge.


Hunting is not permitted on the Refuge.


The use of firearms is not permitted on the Refuge.


Fishing is not permitted on the Refuge.


The use of boats and canoes is not allowed on the Refuge.


All of the Refuge is open to hiking, unless otherwise posted as Closed to Public Entry.


Bicycling is not permitted on the Refuge.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is not permitted.


Overnight camping is not permitted. All visitors must leave the Refuge at the end of each day.


No fires of any type are permitted within the Refuge.


Littering is prohibited on the Refuge. Please remove all trash from the Refuge.


There are no picnic facilities at Two Ponds.


Dogs and other pets are not permitted on either side of the Refuge.
