What does it take to deliver on the promise of a special place like Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge? In short, thoughtfulness. Tualatin River NWR is a place for wildlife and people, and balancing the needs of both is no small task. In this section you can explore the ways we work with conservation professionals and the community to make this, truly, a refuge for us all.

  • Comprehensive Conservation Plan

In September 2013, Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge completed a long-range plan that will guide our management of the Refuge for the next 15 years. Known as our Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP), it is more than a document; it is a vision for how we want the Refuge to serve the needs of wildlife and the surrounding community, developed through collaboration with our friends, neighbors, and partners.

Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge has put forth a proposal to conduct a youth waterfowl hunt on the Refuge, a program that was identified in our Comprehensive Conservation Plan completed in 2013. We are very appreciative of the level of public input we have received during the proposal process, which has helped immensely in crafting a solid plan.

The process is not yet complete, so we have created a resource for you to follow along as things progress. The link below will take you to a page where you can download several documents, including answers to Frequently Asked Questions and the Final Youth Waterfowl Hunt Plan.
