Partnerships are critically important to achieve refuge goals, leverage funds, minimize costs, reduce redundancy, and bridge relationships.

In the immediate vicinity of the refuge, opportunities exist to establish and maintain partnerships with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Iberia Parish organizations, U.S. Customs, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Southwest Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges have or currently cooperate with numerous agencies, universities and entities including:

Friends of Southwest Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges and Wetlands

The Friends of Southwest Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges and Wetlands is a non-profit organization of volunteers, committing to the mission and support of the National Wildlife Refuge System, notably the Southwest LA NWR Complex.

Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Visitor Center and are open to the public and anyone interested in the refuge. A membership application is available to join. For more information please see our Friends page.
