Points of Interest

Look for the refuge brochure boxes as you enter the refuge.  The map on the back will show you the roads.  Driving the roads provides good observation for wildlife, especially early morning and late evening.  Look for the observation tower overlooking the Bell Lake, the Bridge Creek hiking trails near the Tram Road kiosk, and the Little River/Red Lake hiking trails near Red Lake and Bee Gum road.

Know Before You Go

If you hike through the woods, be aware that there are venomous snakes that live there and they can be seen anytime, but rarely seen during the winter months.  Mosquitoes are active during the spring, summer and early fall.
