There are a lot of fun, interesting, and educational things you can do on the refuge. Keep in mind, if an activity is not wildlife related and doesn't help in the protection or understanding of wildlife or their habitat, there are probably refuge rules governing this activity. Please check with the refuge management before participating in an activity that could harm the environment or yourself. Be safe and have fun!


Help us protect the refuge:
  • No ATV use on the Refuge.
  • All pets must be on leashes.
  • All groups are welcomed. Please make advance arrangements for special programs.
  • Please take only memories and photographs. Do not gather or disturb any plants, flowers, insects,wildlife, or artifacts.
  • All state and local traffic laws apply while on the refuge, and speed limits are posted along the entrance roads and tour route.
  • Use of unmanned aerial systems (drones) is prohibited.
