      Volunteers collecting seeds

In honor of Iowan J.N. "Ding" Darling, a pioneer conservationist, the refuge is hosting volunteer opportunities for you and/or your group. From collecting seeds to removing invasive plants, everyone will have a chance to help restore and reconstruct prairie habitat at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. All ages are welcome, and all volunteers will receive a FREE lunch courtesy of the Friends of Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. Pre-registration is encouraged. Register by calling 515-994-3400 or emailing Brianna at Brianna_Patrick@fws.gov.
