SUMMER 2016 Times and Dates

Red Sleep Mountain Drive is now open daily for the Summer Season, weather and road conditions permitting. This is a 17-mile, one-way gravel road which gains 2,000 feet in elevation. We recommend you plan at least 1½ to 2 hours for the trip. You need to start Red Sleep Mountain Drive by 6:00 p.m. to be able to finish before the front gate closes at dark.

The 14-mile roundtrip Prairie Drive is also open daily. There is two-way traffic along this route so please drive carefully.

SPECIAL TEMPORARY CLOSURE:  Red Sleep Mountain Drive will be closed from Wednesday, September 28, 2016 through Tuesday, October 5, 2016 while staff move bison.  We plan to reopen Red Sleep on Wednesday, October 5 and hope to keep the drive open through mid-October (weather and road conditions permitting).  Check back for a specific closing date.
