WINTER SEASON now in operation:

Mid-October 2016 to mid-May 2017


This 14-mile roundtrip gravel road is open daily, weather and road conditions permitting. Please note this road can be snowy, icy and/or muddy and can be closed at any time for safety reasons. No fees are charged through the winter.
Red Sleep Mountain Drive is closed for the winter. Typical opening is in mid-May, 2017.


The Visitor Center will be intermittently open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., depending on staff availability. It will be closed Fridays, weekends and the following Federal holidays:
November, 24 & 25, 2016 (Thursday & Friday) – Thanksgiving Holiday weekend
December 26, 2016 (Monday) – Christmas Holiday 
January 2, 2017 (Monday) – New Year’s Holiday
January 16, 2017 (Monday) – Martin Luther King
February, 20, 2017 (Monday) – President’s Day

Front Gate Hours 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Please note, gate times will change frequently as days get shorter through the fall and winter. Please check the sign posted at the front gate for exact times.


Be a safe and courteous drive and obey all posted signs.
