Juvenile and adult bald eagles / L. Wilkins, USFWSHelp keep Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge wild!

There are a lot of fun, interesting and educational opportunities on Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge.  Keep in mind, the refuge is managed for the benefit of wildlife.  Please check with refuge staff before participating in an activity that is not wildlife related or could harm you or the environment.  Be safe and have fun!

Help us keep wildlife wild by following these simple rules:

  • Do not approach or disturb wildlife.
  • Do not feed wildlife.
  • Do not leave anything behind or take anything from the refuge.

For information on the refuge's recreational uses and rules and regulations view our current Fact Sheet (2015).
