A week long celebration of our nation's Wildlife Refuges begins Sunday, October 14 through Saturday, October 20.

Since Theodore Roosevelt established the first national wildlife refuge in 1903, the Refuge System has become the world’s premier public lands conservation network, encompassing more than 550 refuges and 38 wetland management districts.  Across the nation, this conservation success is celebrated every year during October.  Visit Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge this week and enjoy our newly completed auto tour route.

Fun for everyone and it's free!
