Any persons who are participating in hunting and fishing on the Lower Hatchie NWR are required to have a signed permit on them at all times. These permits can be printed, or obtained at our Refuge Headquarters or may be found at our kiosks.
Quota hunt permits are issued separately. The Lower Hatchie NWR hosts two quota hunts. The Turkey Quota Hunt is held during the month of April, and applications are collected during the month of January. If you are drawn for the turkey quota hunt, you will receive a notification by mail and will be asked to provide payment for your quota hunt permit. The Waterfowl Quota Hunt is held every weekend during the TN state duck season, and applications are collected during the month of October. If you are drawn for the waterfowl quota hunt, a payment is not required, and you will automatically be sent a hunt permit. For more information regarding our quota hunt permits, please refer to our Lower Hatchie NWR Public Use Regulations brochure below.
It is the hunter's responsibility to comply with all Regulations contained in our Lower Hatchie NWR Public Use Regulations brochure, the 50 CFR Regulations, and State Regulations.
Special Use Permits are given to individuals or groups at the discretion of the Refuge Manager.
