Sweepers Intro

"We cannot do great deeds as a nation unless we are willing to do the small things that make up the sum of greatness." ~Teddy Roosevelt

Schools or Educational Groups

Are you looking for an outdoor classroom, or would you like some materials to incorporate into a wildlife or habitat-themed topic? We could recommend areas for learning about food webs, prairies and their plants, nutrient /water cycling, soils, and wetlands. We also have learning materials related to prairies, wetlands, and waterfowl ecology.

Please feel free to contact us for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

We work with individuals or groups (such as 4H or Boy Scouts) on habitat and wildlife-related projects. Some ideas include:

  • Waterfowl pair count routes
  • Nest box routes and yearly maintenance
  • Invasive species pulls
  • And other projects
Contact us if you have an idea or would like to find out more about volunteer opportunities.

Other Opportunities

There are other ways to get involved in with the USFWS, habitat conservation and awareness, or wildlife as well. Other ways to get involved are to: attend stakeholder meetings, become a grazing or haying cooperator, read peer-reviewed published articles, become active with a partner conservation organization, or stop in our office.

We look forward to hearing from you!
