Kanuti Refuge provides year-round opportunities for visitors who seek wildlife-dependent recreation in a remote environment. The refuge does not require the general public to obtain special use permits to visit or for activities such as hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing and photography, as long as activities remain compatible with refuge purposes. Visit the Rules and Regulations page for more information.

Refuge users must follow state regulations when harvesting fish and game unless those activities are further regulated by the Federal Subsistence Board. Special Use Permits are required for all commercial ventures, scientific research, and collection activities. Visit the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Forms page to access permit applications.
