Refuge hunting permits are required. Permits are available from the refuge headquarters, and online under Visitor Activities. Deer and small game permits are self-serve style. Waterfowl hunting and spring turkey are distributed via a lottery system.

Trapping of fox, coyote, beaver, muskrat, mink, raccoon, weasel and skunk is allowed. Individuals must apply for a permit at the refuge headquarters. We will issue 50 marsh trapping and 50 upland trapping permits per year.

Bear hunting is not permitted on the refuge during any season. 

Other activities may require permits, please contact the refuge headquarters for more information on the above programs as well as other activities that may require a permit.
