Volunteer in Visitor Center / USFWS

From its start in 1903, the National Wildlife Refuge System has owed its very existence to concerned citizens eager to protect America's natural resources.

Volunteering
Imperial National Wildlife Refuge has volunteer positions available throughout the year. Whether you are interested in becoming a resident volunteer, or just giving a few hours of your time, we hope to hear from you. Opportunities may include staffing our visitor center, assisting with environmental education and interpretation programs, biological surveys, and maintenance.

Long-term resident RV volunteer positions are often advertised through Volunteer.gov or Workamper.

Please contact the refuge for more information.
