Volunteer Hat Pin 512x296

From its start in 1903, the National Wildlife Refuge System has owed its very existence to concerned citizens eager to protect America's natural resources.  Volunteers are crucial to protecting our nation's wildlife and teaching millions of Americans that their actions today determine the legacy of tomorrow.

All those interested in volunteering should contact refuge headquarters and complete a Volunteer Services Agreement (For groups interested in volunteering, this is the group form). These agreements must be completed annually.

Because the refuge is very new and currently small in size, we don’t have a consistent daily or weekly flow of work for volunteers. However, as the refuge grows in size and in popularity we will utilize volunteers more and more!

We will need volunteers for educational and interpretative programs, biological data collection, and general refuge maintenance. So, please contact us to be put on a volunteer list and we will reach out when opportunities arise. Whatever your talents or interest, it can be put to good use at Green River National Wildlife Refuge!
