Permits

River running through the refuge.

Permits are not required for the general public to use the refuge during normal daylight hours for wildlife observation, wildlife interpretation, environmental education and recreational photography. The two most commonly requested permits are for the use of our Wise Point Boat ramp and for our annual white tail deer hunt. Questions about these permits and permits for any other type of activity should be directed to refuge headquarters at (757) 331-2760.
