There are lots of fun, interesting, and educational things you can do on lands within the Devils Lake Wetland Management District.  Public lands within the District include Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) and refuges.  Refuges within the district include:  Kellys Slough, Lake Alice, and Sullys Hill National Game Preserve.  WPAs are part of the National Wildlife Refuge System, a network of land managed to conserved fish and wildlife and their habitat for the continuing benefit of the American people.  Wildlife-dependent recreational activities are allowed on WPAs, including hunting, fishing, trapping, wildlife observation and photography, environmental education , and interpretation.  Please observe the regulations to protect natural resources and to help ensure that your visit will be safe and enjoyable.
 
General Regulations: 
-Vehicles are permitted only on designated roads and parking areas.
-Commercial activities are not allowed unless authorized by a special use permit issued by a District manager.
   
Prohibited Activities:
-overnight camping
-fires
-littering, including leaving spent shotgun shells or the remains of hunted animals
-removing or distributing property, including artifacts
-removing natural objects or destroying plants, excluding the gathering of dead plant materials for on-site blind construction
-riding or using horses for any purpose
