Rules and Regulations

Rules and regulations have been established to protect wildlife and their habitat, as well as you the visitor.  Please abide to keep wildlife alive.  Beaches of all Refuge islands are open for your enjoyment, except Seahorse Key.  Seahorse Key, it's beaches and a 100 yard perimeter are closed to all public entry from March 1 through June 30th, annually.

There are lots of fun, interesting, and educational things you can do on the Refuge island beaches.  Keep in mind, if an activity is not wildlife related and doesn’t help in the protection or the understanding of wildlife and their habitat, there are probably Refuge rules governing the activity.  Please check with the Refuge @ 352/493-0238 before participating in an activity that could harm the environment or yourself. There are plenty of activities on Atsena Otie and other island beaches for you to enjoy.  Be safe and have fun!
