The National Wildlife Refuge System is committed to building partnerships which encourage conservation and preservation of our natural and cultural resources.  Partnerships with the Refuge System bring innovative approaches to solving land management and water disputes in the most environmentally protective manner.  Scientifically-informed and technologically-based stewardship of our public lands, waters, wildlife and special places must be collaborative efforts between the Refuge System, other government agencies, and private organizations if conservation efforts are to succeed.

The recently established “Friends of Cache River National Wildlife Refuge” is now incorporated and is operational in supporting Refuge programs. The mission of the Friends group is to promote conservation and sustainable use of the natural resources, environmental education, and compatible outdoor recreational opportunities at Cache River National Wildlife Refuge. The group’s Vision Statement is “We envision a future in which the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is valued and supported as it works to conserve diverse and sustainable populations of fish, wildlife, and the habitats that support them for the benefit of all.”

The Nature Conservancy, Ducks Unlimited, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Audubon, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Natural Resource Conservation Commission and numerous private land owners and businesses are some of our partners that continuously work with us on many wildlife and wildlife habitat projects on the Refuge. Many of these projects would not get completed, or even started, if it was not for the dedication of these partners listed.
