Rivers Edge Wildlife Drive

Wildlife Drive Browns Park NWR 512 x 219

This 8-mile auto tour route within Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge takes you through a variety of habitats and provides good opportunities for viewing wildlife. The route is passable by passenger vehicles. All other dirt roads are only seasonally passable and are not maintained. Four-wheel drive or high-clearance vehicles are recommended for these roads.

To protect sensitive wildlife, seasonal road closures within the Refuge are in effect on the lower river terraces in Straddle, Hog, Horseshoe, and Spitzie bottoms from March 1st to July 31st. Motorized vehicles are not permitted into those areas during seasonal closures, however visitors may walk or bike into them.
