Bowdoin NWR is an extraordinary place for wildlife and people.  Because it is a wildlife refuge, the needs of wildlife and habitat must come first.  Regulations have been established to provide wildlife and their habitats with adequate protection.

There are lots of fun, interesting, and educational things you can do on the refuge.  Keep in mind, if an activity is not wildlife related and doesn’t help in the protection or understanding of wildlife or their habitat, there are probably refuge rules governing this activity.  Check with the refuge management before participating in an activity that could harm the environment or yourself.  Please observe these regulations so that the Refuge will continue to be an extraordinary place for both you and wildlife to enjoy.  Be safe and have fun!
