Western diamond back rattlesnake/PowellThe U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service maintains a law enforcement presence on National Wildlife Refuge lands.

Federal law enforcement officers ensure the safety of the public and the protection of natural resources.  They address illegal activities, including poaching, taking of endangered species, dumping of trash, illegal operation of all terrain vehicles, trespassing and more.

To report a violation on the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge:
Monday through Friday (8am to 4pm-MDT), please call:  (575) 622-6755
After hours or on weekends, please call: (575) 420-8258 

For injured wildlife, please contact the State of New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Southeast Area, Roswell Office at (575) 624-6135 or a qualified wildlife rehabilitation facility near you.
