Annual Youth Pheasant Hunt & Upland Game Workshop

Pheasant close-up of head / USFWS Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge will host its annual Youth Pheasant Hunt and Upland Game Workshop, one day event, on Saturday, December 2, 2017 for youth 17 years old and younger.  Application submission period has ended, and draws will be notified.

For all the details on this hunting opportunity, see our Flyer.  A total of 16 permits will be issued from the completed Applications.  Four alternates will also be drawn.  Please note that hunting conditions may be fairly rigorous.  Youth hunters must be accompanied by a non-hunting parent or legal guardian.  Hunters must report to the South Tract Unit by 6:00 am on December 2, 2017 and participate during the entire workshop to be eligible to hunt. The day's Bag Limit is three male pheasant and fifteen quail. ALL OTHER SPECIES ARE PROTECTED!  Successful hunters will be notified by phone no later than Friday, November 17, 2017.  Only non-toxic shot may be used (or possessed) while hunting on Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge.  LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:  Youth must bring valid proof of the following: New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Game Hunting License, And Hunter Education Certificate.
