From its start in 1903, the National Wildlife Refuge System has owed its very existence to concerned citizens eager to protect America’s natural resources. Become a volunteer by filling out an application and contribute your strength on behalf of America’s natural resources.

Volunteering Experience: Want to have fun, meet new people, help wildlife? Become a volunteer with the Bayou Cocodrie National Wildlife Refuge. Volunteers are actively involved in many of the refuge programs. Volunteers put in more than 500 volunteer hours each year to directly benefit the wildlife and habitat of the refuge.

Local Volunteers/Groups: A wide variety of volunteer activities are available for local individuals and groups. If you would like to volunteer for the Bayou Cocodrie National Wildlife Refuge contact us at bayoucocodrie@fws.gov
