Enjoy, explore, learn!

Talk to your parents about joining us for our family events like Fall Fishing Day and Night of the Living Bugs where you can discover with hands-on learning!

Stop by our Visitor Center on FM 563 to explore interactive wetland displays, grab an animal checklist, talk to volunteers about earning your Jr. Ranger Badge, and best of all watch two movies in our Airboat Theater! Be prepared to learn about live animals and explore the Cypress Trail on your way out.

After you do all these fun activities, take a trip to the refuge on FM 1985 to explore the Butterfly Garden, see how many alligators you can count around Shoveler Pond Auto Tour Loop, and visit our Visitor Information Station to learn more about wildlife.

Looking for more ideas? Visit the our kids page for activities and ideas for your visit to a wildlife refuge. Download one of the coloring books and fact sheets or listen to the sound of your favorite animal!
