Facility Status and Public Activities During the Shutdown

Per the amended shutdown notice, this site has been authorized to operate the specified facilities and previously scheduled events during the shutdown.


Visitor Facilities Hours of Operation

The Visitor Center is open daily from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Outdoor facilities, grounds, and trails are open daily from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. Hours are posted at the Headquarters, Hillsboro Recreation area, and 20-Mile Bend Area entrances. Night use is strictly prohibited.

The administrative office is open Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and is closed on all federal holidays.

NOTICE OF CANCELLATION: Public Meetings Concerning Proposed Changes to Recreational Fees Postponed

Due to the ongoing partial government shutdown, public meetings to consider changes to the Recreational Pass fee structure at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee and Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuges have been postponed. The meetings, originally scheduled for January 22 and 24 respectively, will be rescheduled to a yet-to-be-determined future date.
