Swiss Coordination Office for Crayfish/ Koordinationsstelle Flusskrebse Schweiz

The coordination office, which acts on behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment, has been in existence since the beginning of 2014. It has an advisory and coordinating function in the field of crayfish in Switzerland.

The task of the coordination office is to support the cantons in the conservation measures of native and non-native crayfish. It is the point of contact for questions, manages the exchange of experience and knowledge between cantons and countries, informs the population about the topic and carries out public relations work.

Partner Category

We often partner with non-governmental conservation organizations on conservation projects, whether it's to conserve identified species such as the monarch butterfly or to advise on land acquisition for conservation so that it has the greatest benefit for species.
