Winter Birds at McNary National Wildlife Refuge

Stroll on a bird walk, observe bird mist-netting up-close, and dissect an owl pellet.  Enjoy eye-catching videos of burrowing owls, elk and other wildlife by local wildlife videographer Gaylord Mink.  See a live birds-of-prey presentation by Blue Mountain Wildlife.  Join us at McNary National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, February 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for this Friends of Mid-Columbia River Wildlife Refuges 2nd annual event.  Afterward, join the Friends for their annual meeting where you can learn about the organization and become a member.  Food and beverages will be provided and the meeting will conclude by 1:00 PM.  The event is free and open to the public.

The McNary National Wildlife Refuge Education Center is located at 311 Lake Road in Burbank, WA. From the Tri-Cities, take I-182 East to Burbank, WA.  I-182 becomes US 12 in Pasco. Exit at WA 124 toward Burbank/Waitsburg.  Turn right toward Ice Harbor Drive.  Continue straight over the bridge onto Ice Harbor Drive.  At the traffic circle, continue straight to stay on Ice Harbor Drive.  Turn right onto Lake Road.  Turn right into the parking lot for McNary Environmental Education Center, just after crossing the slough.
