Winged Pollinators - Fish and Wildlife Celebrates Bat Week October 24 - 31

Did you know that bats are vital to the sustainability of our natural ecosystems?  These flying mammals are essential for pollinating fruit and vegetable plants, dispersing seeds and by controlling damaging insects.  By working closely with the governments of Mexico and Canada, we are engaged in cooperation, coordination, and information sharing related to the conservation of bat species throughout North America.  Join us in recognizing the importance of bats and the role the Service plays in providing valuable habitat for bats, conducting research, and engaging in recovery actions throughout the Nation.
