Tribal Canoe Journeys

Each year a different tribe hosts other tribal nations from the coastal communities of the Pacific Northwest in a celebration that represents the revival of canoe culture. This year the Paddle to Nisqually – July 30-August 6, 2016 – will bring hundreds of canoes and thousands of people to the South Puget Sound. The Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is proud to be a part of this summer’s event as tribal and non-tribal people alike come to visit, participate, and share in this unique experience.
