In Search of Lamprey
The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde are conducting a pilot study to reintroduce Pacific lamprey into their historic habitat above impassable dams in the Willamette Basin. In July 2015, biologists from the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Office assisted with lamprey collection below Willamette Falls. The 30 or so lamprey collected were moved above Fall Creek Dam/Reservoir east of Eugene, Oregon.
