      Lower Detroit River Clean-Up
      9:00 am – 2:00 pm
      Hosted by the Friends of the Detroit River. 
      Would you like to assist with the clean-up along the river? This is a large-scale cleanup of the shores and small islands in the Lower Detroit River. Volunteers with/or without small outboards boats, gloves, and boots. Dress for the weather and protection and bring extra lifejackets if you have them.
       
      LOCATION: Trenton Rotary Park-Harrison street off of West Jefferson in Trenton. 
      Orientation meeting starts at 9:00 am. A picnic lunch will be provided for all who participate following the clean-up.

      Join refuge staff and partners for an event celebrating the amazing Lake Sturgeon!
      Staff from Michigan DNR, The United States Geological Survey, Michigan Sea Grant, and The United States Fish and Wildlife Service will be in downtown Detroit at Milliken State Park along the Detroit River with activities and learning stations related to the Lake Sturgeon. 
      LOCATION: William G. Milliken State Park and Harbor 1900 Atwater St, Detroit, MI 48207
      All activities will be held outdoors! 
      FREE!!! 
      The event is located directly across the street from the Outdoor Adventure Center. For an extra fun day schedule time to visit the center too!

      While we await the visitor center grand opening, let’s enjoy activities along the Humbug Marsh Unit trails!    
      9:00 am – 1:00 pm 
      The Wyandot of Anderdon Nation will showcase a variety of artifacts under the education shelter. Refuge staff and volunteers will host youth, ages 10 and up, to try their skill at archery in the scenic Walnut Grove!    Come for a portion or the entire event.

      Kids Free Fishing Event 
      12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
      The 9th Annual Kids Fishing Fest will take place Sunday, June 9 from 12-4pm at Milliken State Park and Harbor. Fishing Fest provides parents, grandparents, guardians and groups the opportunity to create fun family memories along the Detroit riverfront. Fishing Fest features free basic fishing lessons and a limited number of free fishing pole rentals for those without a fishing pole. The program includes free snacks, free children’s games, a DJ and free bait.
