Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge seeks public comments on a Draft Hunt Plan, Compatibility Determination, and Environmental Assessment.
The Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge) has prepared a draft Hunt Plan (HP), Compatibility Determination (CD), and Environmental Assessment (EA) which proposes the expansion of hunting opportunities on the Refuge. The purpose of the proposed HP is to ensure that quality opportunities for hunting of desert bighorn sheep continue to be provided on the Refuge and to allow hunting of mule deer, mountain lion, Gambel’s quail, mourning dove, Eurasian collared-dove, cottontail rabbit, antelope and black-tailed jackrabbit, coyote, spotted skunk, bobcat, ringtail, badger, and kit and gray fox.

The Refuge is seeking public comments on the draft HP, CD, and EA to be incorporated into the final plan. Comments must be received by close of business on Monday, June 8, 2020. The HP, CD, and EA may be viewed starting Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
