Current conditions of Chautauqua, Emiquon and Meredosia National Wildlife Refuges

The Service is closely monitoring the situation related to the novel (new) coronavirus (COVID-19). Visitors can be assured that the Service continues to maintain high standards related to the health and wellness of staff and visitors. For more information, please see the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's public health update

Our public restrooms are closed, as a precautionary measure, in adherence to guidance from the CDC, state, and local public health officials. All other refuge land and facilities at Chautauqua, Emiquon and Meredosia National Wildlife Refuges remain open and operating normally. Refuge rules and regulations still apply.

Please note: The Nature Conservancy's Emiquon Preserve has separate rules and regulations. Please give them a call at 309-547-2730 or email them at illinois@tnc.org for updates.
