10:30 am – 11:15 am Saturday, September 14: Way of the Monarch

The Way of the Monarch follows the spectacular metamorphosis and migration of the monarch butterfly. This beloved creature transforms from egg to larva to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly to international traveler.  The storytelling show is performed in several suitcases, using hand and rod puppets created from recycled materials. After the show, Laurie is happy to field questions and comments from the audience.

This shadow puppet show shares about Minnesota's most common bat - the Little brown bat (myotis lucifugus) and it's current struggles with white nose syndrome with sub-titles in Spanish.

2 p.m. Saturday, November 2: Skeletons in the Closet 

Skeletons in the Closet is a bilingual puppet show (Spanish-English) which celebrates love and the cycle of life. With statue, rod, bunraku and shadow puppets journey through the 3 traditional realms, as a brother and sister follow their curiosity. They discover the meaning of the Day of the Dead/Dia de las Muertos and that the connection they have with their grandparents continues after death. They learn how the celebration helps to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. The puppet show will be followed by a craft activity.
