Announcement of USFWS Land Trade

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is proposing a land trade involving Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge (CMR). The land trade involves the USFWS trading an isolated property that we currently own for an equitable property that is within the Executive Order boundary of CMR. The Service will reserve a conservation easement on the property we are divesting which will ensure its continued use by wildlife. The property that we will acquire in the trade is adjacent to refuge-owned lands and its addition to the refuge will enhance our management capabilities in the area.
