Hunt Plan's Revised Plan, Compatibility Determination and Environmental Assessment Open for Public Comment

A draft revised Hunt Plan for the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge), and its associated Environmental Assessment and Compatibility Determination, is available for public comment. The Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge is considering changing the Refuge’s Hunt Plan to include the hunting of all migratory game birds, upland game species including turkey, small game and furbearers in designated areas on the Refuge consistent with State regulations. The revised Hunt Plan would continue the hunting of white-tailed deer and geese, but revises the locations that goose hunting would be allowed.

A 30-day public comment period begins March 1, 2018, and ends March 30, 2018 at the close of business on the draft Hunt Plan, Environmental Assessment, and Compatibility Determination.
