Refuge naturalists will be available at Brownsville Overlook and Shady Maple Overlook every Saturday and Sunday from October 28 – November 19, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., to share information about migrating water birds and eagles.

Refuge Naturalists to Staff Brownsville and Shady Maple Overlooks

 

Refuge naturalists will be available at Brownsville Overlook and Shady Maple Overlook every Saturday and Sunday from October 28 – November 19, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., to share information about migrating water birds and eagles. These overlooks are two of the best places along the Upper Mississippi River to view tundra swans, diving and puddle ducks, bald eagles, and other birds. Please note that shifts may be cancelled or shortened due to inclement weather.

 

The Brownsville Overlook is located three miles south of Brownsville, Minnesota along Highway 26. Shady Maple Overlook is located one mile south of the Goose Island County Park entrance road, along Highway 35.

Visitor center hours through November 25, 2017 are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
