The National Elk Refuge is pleased to partner with the Grand Teton Association (GTA) to sponsor a Local Artisan Day on Wednesday, June 28 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will be held on the lawn in Murie Family Park, next to the Jackson Hole & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center at 532 N. Cache Street in Jackson.

The GTA is a non-profit, cooperating association whose primary purpose is to support the educational, scientific, historical, and interpretive activities of its federal partners through retail sales of educational products and services. When possible, the organization uses local vendors to provide products for its retail outlets. The Local Artisan Day will feature products sold by the GTA at federal facilities on the National Elk Refuge, Grand Teton National Park, and the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Guests can wander through the various booths, view the locally-produced wares, talk with vendors, purchase crafts, and learn more about the businesses and the key role of the GTA in supporting its federal partners.

A range of products will be offered that day, including books; clothing and accessories; food items; and household goods such as coasters, candles, pottery, paintings, photography, and metal works. Approximately a dozen vendors are expected to participate.

From 12:00-2:00 pm, the National Elk Refuge will be staffing a wildlife-themed crafts station for children of all ages, inspiring them to join in the spirit of art making.

The event is free of charge to the public.
