Onslow Island Temporarily Closed Beginning May 1, 2017

Onslow Island, which is normally open to the public on Wednesdays only, will be temporarily closed for dredging operations being conducted in the Savannah River through an agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The dredging operation is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 1, and is estimated to take around two weeks to complete. This would mean that visitors would not be allowed to access Onslow Island on Wednesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 10.  Updates will be made to this web page if the timeline is altered and the closure is lifted early or extended.
